Last weekend I worked on a muslin, just to see how the pieces go together. That little jog at center back is the only place where the pieces didn't fit together perfectly, but it is an easy fix.
This weekend I wrestled with off-grain interlining for an inordinate amount of time, but managed to get almost everything cut out and basted together. I'm using the Truly Victorian 1879 Cuirass Bodice pattern in the largest size to help fill a gap in the costume closet at Cowtown.
This morning I woke up early enough to machine stitch all the hand basted seams. I'll need to remove the basting before pressing the seams properly--and still need to baste the twill interlining to the center front pieces before I continue assembly.
I hope to have a finished bodice within the week!
